The antenatal care (ANC) is one of the four pillars of the safe motherhood. So as to know the satisfaction
and complaints of pregnant women have been assessed just after ANC sessions into first line health services
of Do and Dafra districts.
All pregnant women attending ANC into 16 of the 33 FLHS have been interviewed with their express consent. The criteria defined into the national policy and standard related to the quality of the reproductive health care served for the individual perception assessment. At all 138 pregnant women out of 263 expected have been included in the survey. They complained about the lack of courtesy from health providers, the weak confidentiality and comfort conditions during ANC sessions. Nevertheless, the waiting time, the contact time and the answers to their concerns are satisfactory.
A regular assessment of complaints and satisfaction from pregnant women could motivate the district executive team on improvements leading to better ANC attendance.
